1. The Republic of Tajikistan has applied for financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Nurek hydropower rehabilitation project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Penstocks rehabilitation.

2. The OJSC Barqi Tojik, implementing agency for the project, now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the following supplies and services relating to the Nurek Hydro Powerplant on the Vakhsh River in central Tajikistan:

a) Detailed inspection of the Horizontal section of nine penstocks.

b) Repair of the detected indications and cracks.

c) Repair of the previously bad repaired works.

3. Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” March 2022 (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

4. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from OJSC Barqi Tojik and inspect the bidding document during office hours at the address given below

The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of three hundred United States Dollars (300 USD) or equivalent sum in local currency or in Euros. The payment shall be clearly labeled as Purpose of Payment: “Company [name of Bidder] - Purchase of Bidding Documents for Nurek HPP Rehabilitation Project” The method of payment will be by bank transfer to:

6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before May 17, 2024 at 15:00 hours. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on May 17, 2024 at 15:00 hours.

7. All Bids must be accompanied by a “Bid-Securty”.
