The Republic of Tajikistan has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank toward the cost of the Reconstruction of Ravshan Electricity Substation project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services. The services include Audit of Project’s Financial Statement and preparation of its Report. Please refer to the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Jumhuriat Newspaper under No. 75, dated 29 April 2014 and 20 May 2014.

21.12.2016 Capacity building tostrengthen the climate resilience of energy sector assetsand investments.

 The objective of the “Capacity Building Program to Strengthen the Climate Resilience of Energy Sector Assets & Investments” (the CBP) is to build the capacity of the state utility Barki Tojik together with the state hydro-meteorology agency Tajik Hydromet (TH) and other relevant institutions to be more aware of the effects of climate change and to be better equipped to manage the impacts on water resources and hydropower generation. 

13.12.2016 Rehabilitation of Nurek HPP and Dam Safety Provision

The Nurek Dam, commissioned in 1972, is the highest dam in the world (300 m high). It is a large earth-fill dam with 3,000 MW of installed capacity. It controls the Vakhsh River, main Amu Darya River affluent with the Pyanj River. The Amu Darya is the largest river of Central Asia, and one of the two main tributaries of the Aral Sea.

The first part of SUGD is at its final stage and includes (i) Lot 1. Supply and Installation of Smart Meters, Meter Reading System Equipment, Auditable Billing System in Khujand and Surrounding Municipalities, and (ii) Lot 2 Rehabilitation of Khujand Electrical System. The SUGD Extension Project (the Project) includes the construction of a new substation (Temurmalik) 110/10 kV in the southern part of Kamoli Khujandi Park. It will also include the connection by a 2.5 km /110 kV OHL Double Circuit to another substation and ancillary equipment.

24.10.2016 Qairokkum Hydropower Rehabilitation Project Phase II
The Open Stock Holding Company Barqi Tojik (BT) is a 100% state-owned vertically integrated power utility responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in Tajikistan. BT intends using loan proceeds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and European Investment Bank (EIB) as well as potential funding from the Green Climate Fund (“GCF”) to finance Phase II of the priority rehabilitation program at the Qairokkum hydro power plant.
